Our only regret about our visit to Flemingstown House was that we did not stay longer. The accommodation was lovely, comfortable, spotlessly clean, spacious and welcoming. Imelda made us feel extremely welcome with tea and scones on arrival - what a lovely lady. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She found and booked us somewhere local for our evening meal which proved to be an excellent recommendation. Breakfast the following morning was superb. We hope to return soon to probably one of the best places we have stayed in. Thank you Imelda!

A friend who planned our entire trip found this hidden gem via the web. Of the three places we stayed at (3 nights each in 3 different places), this was the only one we were not familiar with. What a great place! Imelda gave us a very warm welcome, made us feel we were entering our own home, and treated us like family - the royal family! Each room is gorgeously outfitted with beautiful antiques and each room is en suite with very modern bathrooms. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. Her meals were memorable - I could repeat what we ate for each one, and she shared some recipes with me. For the most part, this place is rented out for longer periods of time to self-caterers. There is a patio with a barbecue for guests to use. But we chose to have our meals cooked by Imelda - and are so happy we enjoyed the treat. The kitchen is to die for and I'm discussing with my sisters about spending some time there - but that time will be as self-caterers. We all love to cook not to mention we love Ireland! The property is simply beautiful with rolling hills and sweeping vistas. A great place for couples, friends or families. The Rock of Cashel is only 50 minutes away, Adare is even closer. In addition - Flemingstown House is only 50 minutes from Shannon Airport so the morning of our departure back to NY was very relaxed. Thank you Imelda!

When I bought tickets to see Bruce Springsteen in Ireland I needed a house to stay where I could invite my friends and it would be comfortable and just a great place to hang out. Well we found it! Ten of us rented the entire house and it was great. Just like everyone else has said - it is a good central location to explore Ireland.

MaineEXPTraveler, Maine

My wife and I stayed at the house with 8 other friends and used it as our central location for taking day trips around the southern part of Ireland. The house was a fantastic place to stay, and the woman who owned the home could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The home had enough bathrooms and space where no one felt inconvenienced. The home has a large kitchen, two dining areas, a family room with a large TV, and a formal sitting room on the main floor.

My husband and I as well as my parents stayed in the 2 bedroom self-catering cottage at Flemingstown House during the first week of June, 2013. This was the first trip to Ireland for our entire party, but let me just say that by the end of our visit we were already talking about when we can visit again. This is due in large part to our lovely accommodations and the welcoming and generous personality found in our host, Imelda Sheedy.

Everything about our stay at Flemingstown House went beyond our expectations. We flew into Shannon Airport and after picking up a rental car and making a couple of stops, we drove to our home away from home, which was very easy to find and only about 40-45 minutes from the airport. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Imelda and ushered into her fabulous home where her homemade apple tart, scones, coffee and tea were waiting for us. We all took an immediate liking to Imelda, not only because of her culinary expertise :-), but because she was friendly, hospitable, and genuine - you quickly feel as if you have known her for a long time which is a very special quality that not many people possess.

After great conversation, she showed us the cottage which fit our needs perfectly. It has a fully stocked kitchen, a bright and open living room with awesome views of the Ballyhoura Mountains and of course, the cows! The bedrooms are a very nice size and the beds are extremely comfortable - Imelda irons the bed linens which is just one example of her personal touch and going above and beyond to make her guests’ stay both cozy and carefree. The furnishings throughout the house are antiques which are thoughtfully placed to add to an authentic Irish experience.

The location of the house is perfect for anyone who, like us, wants to have one central place to call home, and take day drives to points of interest in the southwest region of Ireland. We were easily able to enjoy day trips anywhere from Kinsale to Roundstone, and from Dingle to Kilkenny, as well as all points in between. But sometimes it’s where you are at the moment that becomes the destination. Sometime midweek, after learning that we loved her scones for breakfast, Imelda invited us into her kitchen for a cooking class to learn how to make the scones and apple tart. We took her up on her invitation on the final afternoon of our trip. We sat around her kitchen island and had the best time talking and sharing, watching her make these fabulous treats, and then of course enjoying the final products! It was a special and wonderful experience we will reminisce about whenever Ireland comes to mind.

To sum it up, we obviously went to Ireland for its history, landscapes, and many points of interest, but left with the realization that staying at Flemingstown House and getting to know Imelda was definitely the highlight of our trip. Staying there is way more than just a lodging or an accommodation - it is an experience and a relationship that will remain with you long after you leave Ireland.

If you're looking for the best place to stay in the southwest of Ireland, it's Flemingstown House in Killmallock. We stayed at the cottage next to the main house and it was great. The cottage was beautiful and we had a wonderful view of the cows in the field and the mountains behind them. Imelda Sheedy, the proprietor, is a gem of a woman who definitely rates a "10" on the hostess scale. She is kind, caring and generous with her time. The amenities in the cottage were superb. I can't say enough about how this enhanced our vacation. She definitely represents all the wonderful people we met when we were there.

Bernadette R, Boca Raton, Florida

We weren't exactly sure where Kilmallock was other than it was close to Limerick. On our drive there we thought that perhaps it was a bit remote, but in the end we all agreed it was worth the drive and one of our favorite places to stay. The house and its setting are absolutely beautiful and Imelda is a fantastic host. We didn't want to leave. This is one of those bed and breakfasts you read about in the countryside and it more than meets expectations. The place is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and you are greeted by cows when you arrive. We loved the rooms and had one of our best nights sleep ever. The breakfast was fantastic. A bit out of the way but worth the extra couple of miles.

If you want a caring host, great food, peaceful location, and a part of Ireland that is authentic...then try Flemingstown House. My wife and I along with our two kids and daughter-in-law stayed there for 5 nights in May 2013. We will never forget Imelda and Betty and what they did for us to make our Ireland experience a wonderful memory. We wish Imelda, Betty ,and Betty's babies all the best.

Imelda is awesome... Four of us went from NYC to Ireland in 2010 and I can honestly say I have never felt more welcomed than I did by Imelda - with warm scones and tea! The place is gorgeous surrounded by greenery everywhere . The bfast is amazing and I honestly doubt you can beat this price at this level of service. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience on our recent stay in Flemingstown House. Greeted with freshly baked scones on arrival and warmly welcomed by Imelda, we felt at home immediately. The house was a truly lovely place to stay and I would happily return for a longer visit some day. Everything about the stay there was positive, the breakfast was great, the price very reasonable and the welcoming atmosphere made it just perfect.

Our group of 8 all stayed at Imelda's beautiful B & B for a week in August, 2012. We were greeted in the gorgous home by one of the most friendly, professional, and helpful people you would want to meet. Her home cooking is to die for, and she went over and beyond to make our stay so comfortable.
The home is so pretty and quiet. Each of our rooms were beautiful. I wish I could have taken our mattress home!! Best nights sleep anywhere on our month's trip through Ireland. The land is picture worthy. I would recommend Flemingstown Guesthouse to anyone traveling to Limerick County. I will certainly stay there again in the future.

VICKIE B, ROCK ISLAND

I stayed there with my Father and 2 sons. Emelda greeted us with her fantastic scones, muffins and a great pot of tea. The rooms were great and the breakfasts were out of this world. She makes the stay great as her hospitality is a class of it's own. I will return with my husband but my boys just loved it and want to move to Ireland my youngest with emelada. If you are thinking about it do as the price is worth every cent. You will love it as it is in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.

marina G, Southend

My wife and I stayed here in mid June for 3 nights at the end of a west coast trip. Although I don't have much experience with B&B;'s, I hope that I get to stay in more places like Imelda's!
It felt more like we were visiting my best friend's Mom's place in the country. By that, I mean that she was warm, friendly, helpful and also knew how to give us our space and relax. She has a great energy about her and was so accommodating to our needs.
The property is on a large piece of land and I couldn't see another property from our room, just fields and trees.
She makes a full spread of breakfast every morning. One morning, it was just my wife and I... but she still put out all the fixings. She really knows how to make people feel special and cared for.
We will go back there again. There are lots of things to do in the area (ruins, hikes, restaurants). Most of all, we enjoyed relaxing.

Were not sure what to expect when we booked, but were pleasantly pleased with the accommodations. Home is huge and fantastically decorated. Each bedroom has its own shower/toilet. Generous sized bedrooms. Large warm kitchen with dining table. Also 2 other large dining tables on the 1st floor. Central location for visiting all parts of the country. Quiet, beautiful, clean and charming home. Host Imelda is a charmer. Provided welcome dinner and always had fresh scones available. Will definitely return.

I stayed here with my mother, sister, and aunt. Upon our arrival, we were greeted excitedly by Imelda Sheedy-King! She had her own incredible scones and tea waiting for us also. She knew that we would probably be jet-lagged, so she informed us that our electric blankets were already turned on, if we felt like a rest before dinner. These small details really made our stay comfortable and special.

The rooms are incredibly clean and decorated in a traditional, somewhat Victorian style, which suits the house beautifully. My room had 2 twin beds, with a bathroom/ toilet/ shower en-suite. There was also a television. But when you're in a place as beautiful as Kilmallock, t.v. isn't something you'd want to watch anyway. It was peaceful. We felt like we were staying at a friend's house, as it was very cosy; we were asked frequently if we needed anything, but not so much that it was overbearing.

Imelda, with the help of her assistant, Betty, prepared an insanely delicious dinner: breads and butter, both fresh and wonderfully rich. A butter lettuce salad with fresh chives, shrimp, and a louie-style dressing: a fantastic start, as the dressing was flavorful, but didn't mask the great shrimp flavor. And the soup...a hot cucumber soup! This was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten, honestly! It was rich and creamy, without being too heavy or salty. We also had a delicious chicken, coated in crispy breadcrumbs, served with a delicious dijon sauce, fresh veggies, and flavorful mashed spuds. For dessert there was ice cream, pavlova, an apple tart, and fresh fruit with cream!!! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and most importantly, homemade.

Breakfast was also an impressive spread. I had an amazing toasted bagel with peppered cream cheese and incredible local salmon! My aunt had a traditional breakfast with bacon, eggs, tomato and mushroom; she wasn't dissapointed. We also had the chance to have more delicious scones and brown bread with butter and berry jam! Included in the breakfast were various cereals and granolas with several varieties of both tropical and local fruits. Imelda grows her own rhubarb, and when in season, shouldn't be missed; it is stewed with berries and can be topped with yogurt.

The location is very much in the countryside, but is a short drive from any locations a tourist might be interested in, like Cork or Limerick. It's worth being a little out-of-the-way to stay at Flemingstown house. It's really a beautiful setting, surrounded by cattle and greenery.

Imelda and Betty really seemed to go out of their way for us. We felt extremely spoiled. But we also felt like we had made two new friends when we left. They genuinely care about their guests!

Room Tip: Ask for the cucumber soup! If you're a dog-lover, ask Betty about her dogs, she calls them her...

Imelda runs a fabulous place! We were part of a group of 10 who rented her whole house from June 30 through July 6. The house is fabulous and the location very convenient to the west Ireland attractions. Killmallock should not be overlooked. The abbey ruins are very nice, as are the town stores.

Variety is the spice of life and I enjoy visiting new places but my destination on my regular trips to Ireland is Flemingstown House. Why change when you find such a jewel in the Emerald Isle! It is set in peaceful countryside with views over fields to the Ballyhoura Mountains but within easy reach of sites of interest, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the breakfasts are superb, but its greatest appeal is the warmth of welcome and spontaneous hospitality that is the hallmark of Imelda Sheedy-King. Her attention to detail ensured yet another memorable visit.

LaurieHaste, Shropshire

Imelda Sheedy King is one of the nicest people we met in Ireland. She was warm and welcoming and a wealth of information on places for us to visit. She made us tea and scones upon arrival and tea again in the evening. Her breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip. Flemingstown House is completely amazing and so beautiful. It has been in her family for generations and is very warm and inviting. We would very much love to come to visit her again one day. :-)

My partner and I were attending a wedding in nearby Castle Oliver. We stayed here and it turned out to be the nicest guest house either of us has ever stayed in. The house itself is over 250 years old. It's very homely and oozes character and warmth. The welcome we got was genuine and really made this a special stay. Imelda could not do enough for us. The house is beautifully decorated and expertly maintained. It is bright, warm and is full of character. The walls are about 4 feet thick and you feel secure and welcome inside.

The breakfast was a host of treats including fresh fruits (with stewed rhubarb, muesli, yoghurt!), followed by delicious coffee, homemade breads and scones and then a choice of various delights. I went for pancakes with fruit - which were sensational. My partner went for smoked salmon with scrambled egg. There was no scrimping on portions and she really did want to send us out fully fed! Before the wedding reception, we dashed back to drop stuff off and she very kindly gave us more coffee and hot scones with gorgeous home made jam. She also then stitched up my partner's hem, which had fallen down. She did this quickly, expertly, with good humour and without making us feel like trouble.

The room was just exquisite. A massive, stately bed, with an electric blanked underneath some very comfortable top-mattresses, great linen and duvet, a flat screen tv, en suite with power shower, beautifully lined curtains in luxurious fabrics. The room was large and well appointed, with a real luxury feel.

All in all, this really was a terrific stay which greatly exceeded expectations. This is my first time posting up on Trip Advisor and I am delighted to share this great gem with a few of you. I don't want you all to come and stay though......as I want to be able to return and get a room again, to avail of the nearby mountain biking trail! I can't recommend this place and the owner enough. A true treasure. If you're attending anything in the vicinity, or just fancy a lovely break, then stay here and make it special.

End of our stay in Ireland in this lovely B&B.; Imelda is the perfect hostess, lavishing us with tea, scones and cakes on our arrival. The reception rooms are full of antiques and family history. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. Imelda cooked a wonderful Irish breakfast, along with an assortment of cut fruits, yogurts, breads, jams, cereals - we'd say she has one of the best B&B;'s we have ever stayed in. Would come very highly recommended. Thanks Imelda for the warm Irish welcome and your hospitality you are one of a kind!!

We absolutely loved our stay,

Imelda, you are one of the greatest memories of our Ireland trip, to all those travelling around the world especially Ausies there is no greater experience that a few nights stay at Flemingstown House Kilmallock .
I am a very fussy traveller and I can't thank my husband Rob enough booking our stay
with Imelda she is a real treasure

Flemingstown House is one NOT to be miss

Cheryl and Rob Sydney Australia

My husband, 21-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter stayed two nights in Imelda Sheedy King's beautiful farmhouse. We chose it over the more elaborate large castles with hundreds of rooms because we wanted to connect more with "real Ireland." We were not disappointed! Imelda's hospitality is legendary. From the moment we drove up the long drive, passing a troupe of laconic cows and smelling the delicious hickory fire blazing in the side pasture, we knew we had come to the right place.

The bedrooms are charming and very comfortable, the showers are better than those in my expensively remodeled bathrooms at home, the polished antique furniture and Irish linens and crystal are everything you would imagine and hope a retreat in the Irish countryside might include. Imelda's breakfasts are something to savor, and one evening she cooked an incredible three-course lamb dinner for us -- or perhaps I should say four-course, because she served two fabulous desserts! Floating island and rhubarb cobbler, both homemade.

There is so much to do in the area -- we were highly entertained, and do plan to return. And if that weren't enough, my son left his very nice navy sport coat in the bedroom armoire, and Imelda went to great trouble to ship it back quickly, and was most concerned that it arrive safely, which it did.

I cannot say enough about how enjoyable our stay at Flemingtown House was!

vrsinc, Louisville, Kentucky

There is not much more I can add that has not already been said, but maybe I can try...

We stayed at Imelda's Flemingstown House at the tail end of our recent vacation. We stayed for a week in Kinsale and used the Flemingstown House as an easy night's stay before going to Shannon Airport in the morning. If I had ony known how charming and comfortable the house was, I probably would have stayed a couple more nights.

We were traveling to two girls (12 + 16 years old) and we had a large room that slept four very comfortably -- a queen size bed, a twin, and a roll away. The setting and food were as good as all the earlier reviews have mentioned.

One other thing -- don't miss Kilmallock. What a lovely little medieval town with the intact ruins of two beautiful abbeys, the remains of the old town wall and gates, and friendly pubs with no tourists. A hidden gem

Hi Imelda!

Ann and I want to thank you for our delightful visit to your gracious Flemingstown "Guest House". Our top ten list of appreciated aspects of our stay with you are:

1. The best shower we experienced in England and Ireland - and we stayed in some outstanding hotels.

2. Wonderful bed coverings fit for a King and Queen.

3. Bed lights that actually facilitate reading - something that is eerily missing in many hotels and country homes.

4. Delicious dinner in a beautiful dining room that felt like home.

5. Warm, scone and tea welcome when we arrived.

6. Delicious breakfast-with a special mention for fruit laced crepes.

7. Friendly conversation with helpful travel hints and insights into Irish life.

8. Creative solution to the problem of guilt from not finishing a yummy piece of chicken - [ wrap it up, place in refrigerator, and enjoy it in a picnic the next day]

9. Quiet, tranquil, restful setting to rebuild energy and enthusiasm for exploring.

10. Walking on the long pathway to the house being entertained by the cows, especially the young ones.

We hope that your summer season is a perfect balance between busy enough to put bread on the table but not so busy that you lack time to relax.

Cheers!

My Irish relatives arrived in America in 1852. I am 56 years old, and am the first of my relatives in that 156 year period to go back to Ireland. My dream since I was a child was to someday go to Ireland, and even though it took awhile, I, with my family, finally made it last August. As you can imagine, I built up this trip in my mind for a long, long time. I really set myself up to be disappointed, since for all those years I had this perfect image in my mind of what Ireland would be.
We chose Flemingstown Lodge, in Kilmallock, strictly by chance. We had no recommendation from anyone, we just selected it from their website. It looked like the perfect location to see western Ireland from a central home base. The result of choosing Flemingstown Lodge, was that even though you would think nothing could make our Ireland trip meet the expectations I set up in my mind, the fact was, that Flemingstown allowed us to actually EXCEED all my expectations. Aside from the fact that Flemingstown did prove to be the perfect Western Ireland location, and was so comfortable and modern, the true gift of Flemingstown was that it IS IRELAND. The warmth and friendliness of the Irish people that we heard about, although true wherever we went in Ireland, was best exemplified by Flemingstown Lodge owner. Imelda made us truly feel like we were long lost American family, come home.
For anyone who is looking for the perfect place to stay in Western Ireland, you have to consider Flemingstown Lodge.

Flemingstown House is the perfect place to stay while visiting southwestern Ireland. All the sites of the area are an easy drive away. Imelda is a perfect host, and the old country farm house is charming and immaculate. The rooms are large and cozy, and the furnishings equisite. We were there for five days and enjoyed every minute.

Explorer99, Albuquerque, NM

This was an incredible experience that words cannot describe. We had a little trouble finding the place but it was well worth it. If you have a map or GPS you should have no problems. We arrived late but were warmly greeted by our host. She knew we had a long day (arriving after 22:00) and insisted upon tea and crumpets as she knew we had not eaten. She also offered sandwhiches and other foods before we went to bed. She has won numerous B & B awards and it clearly shows. The traditional Irish breakfast was more than any of us could eat and the service and environment was wonderful. She actually called me in the States before we arrived to give me some last minute tips on travel in Ireland. We heard Imelda was also known for her dinners so we asked her to cook one for us (not knowing it was Mother's Day in Ireland). She never mentioned a thing and put on a spectacular feast with the charm that only the Irish could give. The rooms were spacious and inviting. Everything about the stay was wonderful but we all agreed it was the hostess that made it truly special. I cannot recommend this B & B enough.

++ Imelda is the perfect host, and made sure that we were warmly welcomed, shown the available facilities and our room. Afternoon tea was promptly offered, brought up to our room with biscuits. Imelda is the genuine perfect hostess, an ideal Irish ambassador ensuring that everything the guest requires is available and also well received.

++ The rooms are very nice, ample in size, large comfortable bed/bedding, spotless/clean bathroom, soaps, soft towels ...the attention to detail is evident and endless. Almost everything is like new, except that you are in a beautifuly restored 250 year old farmhouse with pleasant pasture views and ...peace and quiet. Perfect.

+++ Dinner was truly outstanding. The best we have had in a very long time. A delicious homecooked meal, very nice after our days of eating at restaurants. The main course served with over four types of vegetables (very proper), and two types of desserts WOW, we were being treated like family. All cooked by Imelda, served by Imelda, ensured that we had everything we needed, by Imelda. It was like Imelda was our grandmother.

Flemingstown House is an 18th century manor house on a working cattle farm. It is furnished and decorated with exquisite taste and style. The rooms are large and well equipped to make for an extremely comfortable stay. The owner, Imelda, is an delightful hostess who greets you with true Irish charm, warmth and hospitality. The Breakfast menu is 5 star quality. The Breakfast table is laid with silver and Irish linen napkins. The museli, bread, cakes and cheese are home made and the presentation and attention to detail is amazing. Dinner is also available.

Staying with Imelda is an experience I will treasure always. I hope to return soon.

We stayed here on our second day in Ireland. We had a little trouble finding the house, but were richly rewarded once we found it. As we arrived and began to bring in our bags the tea service was already arriving in our room. After we unpacked and spent a few minutes admiring the quality of the furnishing provided in the room we started to relax.

Based on other reviews we called ahead and reserved dinner. The dinner was served in the gorgeous formal dinning room. Imelda had no problem making us a vegetarian dinner that was one of the best that I have ever had the enjoyment to eat. Each course was perfectly prepared and served on the family’s silver service. By the time dessert was served we were already talking about coming back.

Our room easily fit the four of us. Our children who are normally early raisers had trouble getting out of the comfortable beds. Next time we hope to send some time wondering around the farm seeing the animals and letting the kids just run and enjoy the green Irish environment.

This B and B has a spectacular setting , set back from the road behind a large pasture. we were greeted warmly by the proprietress and felt welcomed immediately. The house is fairly large more like a small hotel but filled with beautiful antiques. The bedroom was immaculately clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and quiet. The large windows over looked the cow pasture in the distance and beyond the Irish country side. Although located in a small town it is close to Limerick and Birr making it a perfect location to explore the history and culture of Ireland.
Mrs Sheedy is a wonderful cook and the breakfasts were more than one could ask for.
We highly recommend the Flemingstown House and plan to stay there any time we go to Ireland

Room Tip: all of the rooms are large and well appointed with excellent views

The cottage at Flemingstown House was perfection. My family wanted to spend Christmas in a quaint Irish cottage in the countryside and we found exactly that. Imelda welcomed our family as soon as we drove down the lane and made sure we had everything to make our stay comfortable. The cottage was cozy and comfortable. The beds were all done in Irish linens and heaps of down making it hard to get out of bed in the winter mornings... We had a nice view of the countryside out the front windows. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring all of Ireland as it is very centrally located. Imelda's personality was absolutely delightful and she went above and beyond over the holidays to make sure our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back!

Caligirl61, Folsom California

Stayed here when attended a wedding in nearby Castle Oliver. It was amazing - palatial rooms, beautiful bed linens and furniture, and the best breakfast in Ireland. Imelda even shared her recipe for homemade granola with us (served with rhubarb compote).

Cathryn Costello, Oxford, UK

This was my favorite place that we stayed during our 3 1/2 week tour of Ireland and Scotland. Imelda was a most gracious host, a fantastic cook (her homemade muesli is to die for), and her home is a great balance of comfortable and charming. She also perfectly balanced giving us privacy but was there to chat and give us sightseeing advice whenever we needed it. The location of Flemingstown was perfect for seeing all that we wanted to see in the Southern region of Ireland. A wonderful place to wake up to every morning!!

"The Experience of a lifetime"
As I make my way along the drive to Flemingstown House I know I am about to receive an Irish welcome like no other.for this is the home of Imelda sheedy-King. Ireland's premier hostess.I know this to be absolutely true from five years of holidays in Kilmallock. she is without doubt one of the warmest people I have ever had the good fortune to meet kind, caring and above all genuine. her attention to detail is legend . you need only to see the ratings to see that his is one very special place. it will ensure my return each year to Kilmallock and Imelda for hopefully a long time to come.

If we could sum up our stay at Flemingstown House in one word, it would be "Magical!" We arrived late after dark after being lost and not sure of the left hand side of the road driving, and Imelda and her husband Martin stayed up to greet us warmly. They showed us to a gorgeous room, and invited us into their home kitchen for tea and scones and Imelda's sister's home made cheese before retiring for the night. They made us feel as if we had been away for years and had finally made it back to our family. Truly! The warmth and lovely spirit flows from both of them through the house and the gardens and lands surrounding them, and your soul is touched wherever you step. Our bedroom was exquisite, very roomy, clean and comfy. The ensuite bathroom was modern and had a very nice hot shower. The room was cleaned daily and we were provided with clean towels and we never wanted for anything! The sounds of nature at night were calming, and we were lucky enough to see a cute bunny rabbit hopping through the gardens in the wee hours of the morning. The livestock in the fields sang to us as we took a night time stroll and we felt such peace. Breakfast was a delight for the eyes and well as for our bellies! Imelda offered us a formal menu with several choices, along with tea and coffee, toast, cereals, fruits and yogurt. I am very picky about my eggs and I can promise you that Imelda got my poached eggs perfect! She goes to great lenght to please her guests and you will taste the love in every bite! Since it was my 50th birthday celebration, we asked Imelda if she would entertain the thought of cooking an evening meal for us, and graciously she agreed! We were treated to a 3 course meal in a formal dining room with candle light and my dear husband and I felt like a king and queen! "Flemingstown House is the Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow"
Flemingstown House is the perfect place to stay if you want to take day trips to the south and west of Ireland too. We discovered Ennis, Limerick, Bunratty, Shannon, Adare, Tipperary, Cashel and even drove over to Dingle, and then came back each evening to a little slice of heaven! Do plan to take a weekend, a week, or even one precious night with Imelda at Flemingstown House.....I know it will be a memory you will cherish forever! I have been touched by the love and spirit of Ireland and can honestly say, It is all because of Imelda and all she gives to her guests whom she respects and treats as if they are her own family. I honor this memory of my 50th birthday trip, and hope one day to return and stay once again with Imelda at Flemingstown House!

Leslie Jones, Portland, Oregon

Flemingstown House was the perfect place for us to stay. We wanted to go places and see things and most of all just experience Ireland and this was the perfect place to do all that. We toured all over and came home every evening to the warmth and fantastic ambience of the house.
We had booked breakfast each morning and two evening meals and all I can say was that the food was absolutely delicious. Imelda cooked and we couldn't recommend her highly enough. She has won awards for cooking and even though we read all the great reviews of her hospitality and culinary expertise, it really has to be experienced to be believed.
Each one of us loved every minute of our stay.

This house was such a great find! Not only was it more than I expected, Imelda, the owner, was there to help us with everything. It's centralized location in southern Ireland was perfect for touring different parts of the country.
The house exudes a special charm and is spacious yet cozy and comfortable. The grounds were perfect, peaceful and quiet except when we barbecued and we laughed so much we probably frightened all the singing birds away.
We loved every minute there and plan on returning.
